Heinze Architekten Award 2014

03 I 2014

WINNER | CATEGORY: DETACHED AND SEMI-DETACHED HOUSES | HOUSE S

"House S impressed with its basic approach of horizontal layering. A new roof plane has been built on top of the 1960s bungalow. Three additional small cubes have been placed on top. In addition to the three cubes, the roof features expansive open spaces and terraces. Thus the roof level, which was built over the house as a separate supporting steel work, is clearly perceptible. When viewed as a whole, the new building looks like two buildings have been stacked on top of one another. With the basic concept of the new roof level, the work provides a great quality of life, uniqueness and originality, both in respect of the existing bungalow and of the new spaces on the roof.” – statement of the jury
